Maruti Suzuki has introduced another hatchback, successor of the alto K10. The 2019 alto 800 model of maruti is one of the most affordable and compact hatchbacks. Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is quintessential for low-budget buyers looking for a mini car for in-city travel. The car is not suitable for highways and long road trips since it does not give full throttle response after a certain speed. Some of you might even think of its appearance as feeble.

  • Interior:

The boot capacity and fuel capacity in both cars is same, 177 litres and 35 litres respectively.

The car’s recent model is sturdier in looks while the other one is quite placid. The major difference is in the bumper, more sharp headlights and a black plastic mesh grille. The engine cooling system is also better. Most of the elements used in making alto 800 are recyclable. The aero edge design and ORVM type pivot gives it a better look. Wheelbase of both cars is the same (2360mm). The hatchback is a compact and petite looking which is perfect to pick your child from school or to go on a short drive to the grocery store.
  • Performance and engine:
25% less nitrogen oxide is emitted by upgrading the hardware of the car. The major difference in both siblings is the engine. The new engine is bharat stage six (BS-VI) compliant. It is more environments friendly. The engine develops 47 bhp at 6000rpm whereas K10 develops 67 bhp at 6000 rpm. The kerb weight is slightly less in the new model of maruti Suzuki (730 kgs) as compared to 740 kgs in alto K10. Mileage of alto 800 2019 is 24.7 kmpl and mileage of alto K10 is 24.07 kmpl. When you reach full speed the engine response is slightly slower than before. The car is better for people who have sort distances to travel within the city.
  • Safety and features: 
The steering column is collapsible and the car meets most of the new norms related to speed alert standards and other uncompromising safety regulations. It is equipped with driver seat airbag, electronic break force distribution, reverse parking sensors and anti lock braking system, the old alto K10 is devoid of all these basic features. The new model does have front speakers but lacks front cupholders, like in alto K10.

Maruti Suzuki: Discontinuing Diesel Cars from 2020
